Tamanu Oil — fatty oil is obtained from the seeds of Tamanu Calophyllum inophyllum (Alexandrian laurel), which grows in tropical regions of Africa, southern Asia and the Pacific Islands, by cold pressing. It has a wax texture, green color and nut-spicy aroma.
Extremely rich in composition, Tamanu oil contains a large number of biologically active components, including saturated and unsaturated fatty acids: oleic acid (34-45%), linoleic acid (24-35%), stearic acid (12-20%), etc., flavonoids, vitamin E. In addition, tamanu contains calophylic acid, which is responsible for high regenerating, immunostimulating and anti-inflammatory activity of the oil.
